Russian Union of Architects – an All-Russia public organization, based on a personal membership creative union of professional architects and professionals who have made significant contributions to the design and construction, the study of architectural history and preservation of cultural heritage. This organization rises from the Moscow Architectural Society, whose charter was approved on October 27th, 1876.

Nonprofit Partnership “Green Building Council” (NP GBC) was established on December 2nd, 2010 on the initiative of the Union of Architects of Russia, Russian Academy of Architecture and Building Sciences, Moscow State Construction University, Knauf CIS group, and other developers, construction, environmental organizations - leaders in their fields. The Council enjoys support of the Russian State Duma Committee on Construction and Land Management, the State Duma Committee on Local Government, Ministry of Regional Development, Rosstandard, the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Association of European Businesses.

NP GBC considers "green building" not only as an environment protection tool, but also as a means of development of socio-cultural sphere, the innovation economy, improving the quality of construction. Architectural habitat is primarily cultural environment, support and development of which, in accordance with the principles of sustainable development, will be the main objective of the Council activity.

NP GBC considers that it is important to shape the public opinion about the sustainable habitat to create an instrument for shaping a new architecture - a rating system of certification of "green" buildings and settlements, changing regulatory frameworks and legislation in the field of construction and architecture.

"Passive House Institute” (Russia) was founded in 2008 and operates under the direct informational support of the “Passive House Institute” in Darmstadt. The aim of the “Passive House Institute” is the development of construction technology of “passive” houses and buildings with low energy consumption in Russia and CIS countries, taking into account local climatic conditions and building regulations, translation into Russian of technical literature and settlement programs, the assistance in processing of European experience by partner firms, conducting training seminars, consultations and scientific support for the design of such buildings.

Originally the company “Ekostandart "appeared in 1997 on the basis of the natural sciences faculties of Lomonosov Moscow State University, but later it became independent.

The company provides the following services:
• Comprehensive environmental survey of apartments, offices, cottages and other objects, including constructible surfaces;
• Development of environmental documentation;
• Conducting of engineering - environmental and engineering - geological surveys;
• Conducting of separate analysis and measurements;
• Issuance of certificates of compliance with environmental standards;
• Depollution.

Today the company is actively developing and is one of the leaders in the market for environmental services. "Ekostandart” became the first organization in Russia that possesses a certificate from the international organization of US Green Building as a consultant on green building.

Currently, wooden houses in Russia are increasingly in demand. In 2009, the growth rate of wooden housing construction accounted for 11.9%.

Today the Association of Wood Housing includes 167 businesses and organizations from 39 regions of Russia and 10 foreign countries. The total annual production capacity of the house-building companies involved in AWH amounts to more than thirty thousand modern houses of the industrial production.

Association, a member of Russian Chamber of Commerce, actively cooperates with the builders associations of the whole world (America, Austria, Sweden, Finland, China, Hungary, Italy). In the last seven years, the Association has hosted 37 conferences on the development of wooden construction, 230 seminars on technology, design, standardization of materials, on behalf of the Association 497 reports in Russia and abroad have been made.

Currently, the chairman of the Association is Viktor Valentinovich Shmakov.

Today NIISF – a state scientific institution, accredited by the Ministry of Science and Technology (certificate of state accreditation № 706 of 12.03.1998)

The Institute employs 13 research laboratories, three testing and certification laboratories for  construction products and two centers for certification in the GOST R system “Vibroacoustics" in the system Mossstroysertifikatsiya – “Stroyfizika – certification”.

The Institute was named on April 6th, 1963 by the Decision of the Council of Ministers № 853. Since 1993, a part of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Building Sciences (RAASN).

NIISF is the developer of all-Russian norms and standards on thermal physics, lighting engineering, acoustics and ecology in construction.

St.-Petersburg State Architectural - Building University (SPbGASU) is 178 years old. This is the oldest Russian higher educational - technical institution for the preparation of architectural - building personnel.

The mission of the University - research-educational activities for the preparation of highly qualified engineers, architects, builders and the development of innovative scientific ideas, projects and products. The university cares and augments the best traditions of the oldest architectural-building school for civil engineers. It is developing dynamically, using scientific training technologies, and constantly updates the subjects of scientific research.
SPbGASU was recognized as the best among the architectural-construction of Russian Universities (2001), it was the winner and a Laureate of the All-Russian competition "Stroynauka - 2003" in the annual contest "Builder of the Year - 2005" and "Builder of the Year - 2006", it was awarded the honorary diploma "The best training institution for the construction industry" and "The golden trowel".

The university consists of 7 faculties: architectural (AF), construction (SF), engineering-environmental systems (FIES), automotive - road (ADF), economics and management (FEU), the municipal construction and housing utilities (FGSiZhKH), the correspondence courses (FBFO).
